 Hardwood Caskets

The oldest material known to man makes it a natural and environmentally sound choice when selecting a casket. Our hardwood caskets are all hand-made of solid woods. We do not sell any "veneer or engineered wood". Each hardwood casket is hand-rubbed to a beautiful luster that brings out the woods warmth and unique wood grain pattern.

Most Hardwood Caskets are made of solid wood, finished in a satin or gloss coat. Some may be hand polished. Their design may be square-cornered, round-cornered or round-cornered urn shapes. Typically, select woods (poplar, willow) will be the least expensive wood caskets, followed by pine, oak, birch, maple, cherry, black walnut and mahogany. Other species of wood used in the manufacture of caskets are ash, elm, redwood, cedar, etc. It takes 130 to 150 board feet of lumber to produce a typical hardwood casket. Some caskets require more wood if they are made of 3" or 4" plank material. While normally in the third cost quartile, hardwood caskets are sometimes the most expensive caskets manufactured. Solid hardwood caskets are manufactured like fine furniture. They are assembled by craftsmen; sanded for painting or staining. Some have hand-rubbed finishes.

                      Wood Caskets

Nothing compares to the rich, warm glow of well-crafted hardwood. From the elegance of solid hardwood to the simplicity of hardwood veneer, this assortment shows a variety of woods and finishes that cater to all tastes.A natural, environmentally sound choice for caskets, hardwood is strong, beautiful and shock-resistant. When families choose a hardwood casket, they are leaving a legacy for the next generation because wood is a renewable resource.

Our Hardwood burial caskets are manufactured with the care and detailing of fine furniture. The caskets undergo a 2-1/2-day, six-stage production process that ensures consistent quality through craftsmanship and attention to details.

After the casket is assembled, it is hand-rubbed with multiple coats of lacquer. Hardwood caskets are completed with a full-polished, hand-rubbed high gloss or satin finish. While all hardwood caskets can be cremated, we also offer a selection of hardwood caskets that are ideally suited for cremation.

Harmony Caskets & Urns offers a complete line of hardwood caskets from inexpensive veneers to high-end mahoganies.
